This event marks the first installment of our three-part series, "Creative Arts for Dementia,"

Join us for an engaging talk show on dementia care, including a presentation about retirement in the Philippines, hosted by the Institute for Dementia Care Asia (IDCA). As part of the Purple Angels Global Dementia Awareness campaign, powered by Hi-Esai-Gunita Para Sa Dementia, we will explore Kamishibai, a unique storytelling therapy for people living with dementia (PLwDs), presented by our main speaker Mr. Junichi "Jack" Fukui.

Our guest speaker, Ms. Scarlet Sky Lachica will discuss the benefits of retiring in the Philippines. Additionally, Norman McNamara on this show will recognize BSJ (Bahay ni San Jose) as the first Dementia Friendly facility in the Philippines and the Institute for Dementia Care Asia- IDCA as the first dementia friendly organization acknowledged by the Purple Angels in Southeast Asia.

The Essence Of Music Therapy

     Led by the Institute of Dementia Care Asia (IDCA), an enlightening event aims to highlight the transformative power of music therapy while distinguishing it from music education. Structured as a talk show, esteemed guests, including experts like Czarina Cruel and Estrella Agustin, will delve into the nuances of music therapy. Scheduled for approximately one to one and a half hours, the event will clarify the distinctions between music therapy and music education, fostering public awareness. A key segment will showcase the Philippine entry for WRAD 2024 (World Rocks Against Dementia), featuring a speech by Norms McNamara, the movement's founder. Supported by Hi-Esai, the event will be broadcast online, allowing global participation. The event will be live-streamed via Facebook and is open to the public free of charge. Certificates are available upon request for a nominal fee.  This promises to be an engaging and enlightening experience, uniting individuals worldwide in understanding music therapy's profound impact on dementia care.
