Quezon City, Philippines — On September 7, 2025, the world will take collective steps in the first-ever World Walks Against Dementia (WWAD), a synchronized global movement led by the Purple Angel Global Dementia Awareness Campaign.

Since Purple Angel was launched in Southeast Asia in 2023, many dementia awareness activities such as memory cafés, and community walks have laid the foundation for this historic event. In the Philippines, these initiatives, carried out with the Institute for Dementia Care Asia (IDCA), inspired what has now grown into a worldwide mobilization.

This year, 46 countries will participate simultaneously, creating a united front to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and promote inclusion for people living with a dementia and their families. The Manila leg will take place at UP Diliman CHK Gym Garden, followed by the Cebu leg at SM Seaside City, which will be led by the Children’s Paradise Montessori School.

The program features awareness talks, the INDAK Dance for the Brain, and a symbolic walk that will echo across the globe. Together, participants will send a resounding message: no one faces dementia alone.
