Held on April 3, 2025, in the beautiful coastal town of Moalboal, Cebu, the Senior Citizens Convergence for Wellness and Health Program, organized by the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC), brought together a vibrant community of seniors, advocates, and health professionals for a meaningful day of learning, movement, and connection.
The Institute for Dementia Care Asia (IDCA) and Purple Angel Southeast Asia proudly participated as invited supporters of the program. A highlight of the event was the Dementia Awareness session, led by Dr. Jacqueline Dominguez, President of IDCA, and Dr. Alexandra Guballa of Otsuka Pharmaceutical Philippines, which emphasized the need for greater understanding and compassion for individuals living with dementia.
Energy and joy filled the venue during the Dance for the Brain (INDAK) presentation by Albert Dimarucut and Jaypee Decena—a fun, therapeutic activity that had everyone clapping, smiling, and moving together. This segment was made possible through the generous support of Otsuka Pharmaceutical Philippines, while Pocari Sweat kept participants energized and refreshed as the official hydration partner.
The event concluded with a Dementia Awareness Walk led by Purple Angel ambassadors, a powerful symbol of unity, advocacy, and continued commitment to brain health.
It was a joyful, inspiring, and truly unforgettable day in Moalboal—one step closer to a more dementia-aware Philippines.
